Medical Arts Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy with two locations in Cornwall. We provide pharmaceutical services to individuals living in the community, residents in long-term care, retirement homes, and continuing care facilities.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic pharmacy assistant. Kroll and Emar (Point Click Care and Mede-care) software proficiency are an asset. If you have LTC pharmacy experience (PACMED, nursing home prescription entry, etc.) this will be a definite advantage for the position. The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for working with the Pharmacist in dispensing prescription medications, answering general questions and referring to the Pharmacist when necessary.
Duties include:
  • Entering, updating, and processing all data in pharmacy computer system (KROLL) in an efficient manner. (Inputting and refilling prescriptions)
  • Accurately billing prescriptions.
  • Answering and redirecting phone calls to the appropriate staff member
  • Attending to patients with courtesy by walk in or phone.
  • Communicating with a variety of health care professionals
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify approaching and critical expiry dates.
Qualifications:
  • Prior pharmacy experience is an important asset.
  • Teamwork and positive attitude are requirements to ensure smooth operations of the pharmacy and to embrace the family atmosphere.
  • Accurate, efficient working skills is critical to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills is a must.
  • Knowledge of third-party adjudication processes and guidelines
  • Knowledge of required pharmacy calculations
  • Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent with computer systems such as Kroll, POS, email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.
  • Innovative critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and problem solve.
  • Possess a working knowledge of pharmacy calculations.
  • Prior experience working in pharmacies that service Nursing Homes
Hours of Operation:
Medical Arts Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturdays 9 am - 5 pm.

Salary: $18.00-$24.00 per hour (entry level-experienced)
