ABOUT THE ROLE

We are embarking on a strategic technology and architecture transformation. Our project is centered around best practices, methodologies, and tools, aiming to build a highly extensible and resilient software platform. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining scripts and software to automate testing for desktop, web, and mobile applications. Your efforts in creating robust, efficient, and reusable test tools and automated test suites will be key to enabling our technical team to deliver high-quality releases with agility and precision. Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, and you will work closely with diverse Panago teams and cross-functional groups to ensure the delivery of top-notch software products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to the QA Lead as part of the Solutions Delivery team of IT
  • Learns and effectively utilizes a suite of Panago automated testing YAML-based scripting tools that interface with our frameworks and technical infrastructure
  • Serves as a technical mentor to the QA team in crafting and implementing automated tests utilizing our proprietary QA Automation framework, with a focus on Java-based testing environments
  • Executes and assesses automated test cases, with occasional manual testing as required, ensuring a high degree of thoroughness and efficiency in the testing process.
  • Collaborates closely with functional teams to identify and analyze error trends, driving root cause analysis to minimize error rates
  • Partners with support staff, stakeholders, and developers to replicate and troubleshoot software defects, ensuring rapid resolution and continuous improvement
  • Critically reviews development requirements and specifications for comprehensiveness, clarity, correctness, consistency, testability, and other essential attributes, ensuring high-quality input for successful testing outcomes.
  • Works with the Dev-Ops team to create and maintain rapid, reliable, and repeatable processes, thereby enhancing the delivery of business value across the IT value chain

DESIRABLE EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience, with a deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • At least 1 years dedicated to QA automation, including planning, scripting, execution, and management of testing automation projects.
  • Experience with or openness to integrating AI and machine learning techniques in automated software testing, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to QA processes and methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in testing client-facing products across desktop, web, and mobile platforms, and server-side algorithms.
  • Strong script development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a knack for identifying bugs in complex scenarios.
  • A motivated, self-driven individual who excels in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Proven ability to implement software testing strategies and best practices.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, ideally experienced in agile, multidisciplinary team environments.
  • General understanding of high-performance and scalable system architectures.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technologies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000-85,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience, and education.

  • This position is remote with the option of working in either New Westminster or Abbotsford office.
  • Ad hoc travel to our Abbotsford office for corporate meetings and events may be required.
