OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Pipeline Engineering Manager the Pipeline Integrity Engineer will be part of a team responsible for all facets of integrity pipeline projects for our existing and prospective clients. Specifically provide engineering support and management for various projects like integrity program development, inspection tool projects, tool data analysis, dig programs, feature analysis, pipeline repair, risk assessment, and geo-hazard mitigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage ILI Contractor, ILI data review
  • Integrity dig list development
  • Review integrity dig NDE direct assessment reports and provide repair decision
  • Review potential compliance issues
  • Review threats and damage prevention issues
  • CSA Z662 engineering assessments, such as:
    • FFS Level 1, 2 and 3 which includes reviewing damage mechanisms such as plastic strain, local buckling, ductile tearing, crack susceptibility and fatigue cycling for:
      • Dents
      • Cracks
    • SEP/SOP calculations
    • Depth of cover
    • Cathodic protection (would likely manage a CP company)
    • Geohazard mitigation
  • EWPs (operations identified issues)
  • Provide support for inspecting, monitoring and mitigation programs
  • Evaluate risks and develop plans to prevent or mitigate
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering interns and EITs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of formal training and experience in engineering design or EPC projects
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer registered, or eligible for registration, with EGBC or APEGA
  • Experienced with CSA Z662

SKILLS

  • Must possess engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, etc.
  • Experience related to Major Projects, phase gated project processes, and Supply Chain Management procurement processes is an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers and clients
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as an engineer and be capable of working in a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam
  • Role requires valid driver's license
