Overview:Our client is looking for a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager will manage assigned construction projects to ensure they meet corporate goals for safety, quality, budget, schedule and profitability while mitigating company risk. You will provide direction and leadership to Project Coordinators and Site Superintendents for assigned projects and promote the values of the company and positive working relationships with all stakeholders necessary to achieve company objectives.
What you will be doing:
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings and applicable building codes
  • Plan and manage daily progress of project construction to ensure compliance with the schedule, budget and contract
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules in coordination with project team to meet milestones and completion dates; provide clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved
  • Ensure the health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures are followed
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitor their progress and schedule
  • Provide performance status reports for safety, cost forecast and schedule
  • Manage all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact
  • Perform bi-weekly or monthly detailed project cost review: Labor Cost Reports (LCR) and Project Cost and Forecast (PCF) reports
  • Prepare and/or verify progress payments to clients and trade contractors and monitor approval and payment progress
  • Develop and oversee overall project closeout activities
What you must have:
  • 5+ years relevant construction experience in a similar role
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent construction experience
  • Proven track record in managing and leading self-guided teams
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated team player
  • Ability to prioritize several complex projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Project
  • Working knowledge of Procore
  • Previous experience managing construction projects in hospitals or healthcare facilities
