Job Title: System Analyst - Data Job ID: CV145781510Location: Vancouver, BC Overview:Reporting to the Team Lead, ENT Data Management the Data Management Analyst (the “Systems Analyst”) will be a part of a virtual, distributed team responsible for all enterprise distributed file sharing, archiving, content indexing for eDiscovery, and data protection including management of projects and related infrastructure that underpins all the Digital Systems functions of the company. The Analyst leverages his/her deep subject matter knowledge, and strong relationships with fellow IS support groups, to ensure that the company's distributed file sharing, archive, and content index for eDiscovery, DR, and data protection environments run at levels meeting or exceeding Business SLAs. The Systems Analyst is an individual who can work for periods without Supervision; he/she is an individual with operational experience in the areas of distributed file sharing, archiving, content indexing for eDiscovery, DR, and data protection who actively stays current with today's rapidly changing technology landscape and enjoys working in an environment conducive to adopting forward-thinking methodologies and practices. The Analyst will be operationally focused which includes the day-to-day support and troubleshooting of distributed cloud-based and on-premise file sharing, archiving, content indexing for eDiscovery, data protection, and disaster recovery to ensure that systems consistently operate at exceptional levels.
Services supported by the distributed team include:
  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Unix)
  • File Sharing (Windows file servers)
  • Cloud-based file shares (Cloud storage, authentication, permissions, and Nasuni UniFS)
  • Infrastructure Services (DNS, DFS)
  • Data Protection (CommVault Simpana, Metallic).
What you will be doing:
  • Manage work queues, incidents, requests, and service level agreements in accordance with policy.
  • Perform operational tasks related to the daily function of the company's enterprise DFS and file-sharing environment both cloud-based and on-premise, including capacity management, share permissions and access, and management of associated AD group structures.
  • Perform operational tasks related to the daily function of the company's enterprise data protection and disaster recovery infrastructure, including capacity management, job management, and data protection key performance indicators.
  • Perform operational tasks related to the daily function of the company's enterprise data content indexing, eDiscovery, and Legal Hold within the CommVault environment.
  • As required, participate as a contributor to projects and initiatives undertaken by the Enterprise Data Management team or the large Infrastructure Support group.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and updating of technical documentation related to the functions of the data management team.
What you must have:
  • Information Technology: Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Azure, VMware ESX, storage, Microsoft Server family, Linux, and CommVault Systems software. Possess knowledge of scripting and automation through PowerShell and BASH.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate within a distributed team as well as with other departments at all levels of the organization.
  • Certifications / Training: 2-year diploma in Computer Science or Management information systems (MIS) & Microsoft MCP
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration
  • 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Server operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing Linux server operating systems (CentOS / RedHat) in an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Windows file shares and DFS
  • 3+ years' supporting virtualized environments (VMWare ESX, Hyper V)
  • 1 – 2 years supporting Cloud (Azure/AWS) environments
  • Working knowledge of enterprise-level SAN storage and networking
  • Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time demands and regularly review work to keep priorities in line with business needs.
