Overview:Our client is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to millions of people in diverse communities. They have initiated the largest multi-year transformational program, which will affect over thousands of staff and clinicians across various sites. This program is focused on re-imagining how they deliver care today and into the future. The program will enable them to improve the way patients experience care while driving better outcomes. Within the program governance, there are a series of multi-year projects designed to improve safety, quality and consistency of patient care across the region supported by the modernization of their core hospital information system.
As they continue to expand and build out the program, there is a need for highly experienced, Project Managers, who will work across the program to support the implementation of a complex multi-year, multi-site regional Electronic Health Record (EHR). These Project Managers have extensive experience leading complex EHR implementations, including concepts in dynamic scheduling. Each of the Project Managers will hold overall project management accountabilities, as well as, specific functional accountabilities based on the areas of the program they are assigned to lead, support and drive.
All candidates must demonstrate skills and experience working in a dynamic and fluid environment that will require understanding of concepts associated with Dynamic Scheduling.
What you will be doing:
  • Lead and drive the planning, coordination, execution and management of day-to-day activities associated with each of the PM's functional areas of accountability.
  • Ensure integration of project management activities with the master project plan, as well as across multiple work streams and domain areas to ensure inter-related activities are aligned and coordinated.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor and adjust project and resource plan to align with the master project plan; as well as with the evolving and dynamic situations associated with design, build, test and implementation, typical of large complex EHR implementations.
  • Provides oversight and guidance to project team members to ensure accountability, clear workplans are in place to achieve critical milestones.
  • Tracks and monitors project progress, deliverables and milestones according to project plan and in alignment with established project reporting cadence and processes.
  • Other duties as necessary.
Core Skills and Experience:
  • Senior project management experience leading EHR implementation in a multi-site healthcare organization;
  • Experience with MEDITECH Expanse, or earlier versions of MEDITECH will be an advantage; regardless of whether this experience is related to the MEDITECH solution functionality or project managing the implementation of the solution;
  • Experience with Dynamic Scheduling and project management methodologies;
  • Extensive project management (PMP preferred) with dynamic scheduling and project management methodologies. NOT looking for a transactional Project Manager;
  • Advanced / Expert user of MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project;
  • Strong visual and presentation capabilities to ‘translate' complex clinical, technical and healthcare concepts into visual materials for varied audiences from c-suite to VPs and technical stakeholders;
  • Experience and understanding of BC's healthcare governance and landscape around shared services models and clinical delivery;
  • Experience working in digital health and healthcare environment preferred;
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to form partnerships;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, work collaboratively and deliver results;
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative team approach to decision-making;
  • Effective financial management skills;
  • Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills;
  • Proven ability to manage significant change initiatives and large-scale projects. Ability to negotiate and find resolutions to complex issues. Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with staff at all organizational levels, both internally and externally;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills. EXTREMELY Organized.
  • Knowledge / experience of any of the following EHR domains, preferably in a BC context, will be an advantage:
    • Health Information Management
    • Patient Access (Admission, Discharge, Transfer, Registration, Scheduling)
    • Order Management
    • Provider Documentation
    • Nursing and Allied Health Documentation
    • Ambulatory / Primary Care
    • Advanced Clinical Functionality
Qualitative Experience:This role is not a suitable fit for a junior resource. The following EQ is preferred and required to be successful in this position:
