We are hiring a Personal/Supervision Aide to work one on one with a student and work in VTT's Bayit Program for the 2024/25 school year. This position may be a full-time position from 8am to 5:15pm or a part-time position starting later in the day to 5:15pm.

Candidates need not be Jewish, but must be receptive and open to working in a Jewish day school environment.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Experience or training working with children with special education needs.
  • Experience working in a school setting and enjoy engaging with children of all ages.
  • Can work with students with learning needs in an inclusive classroom setting as well as on an individual or small group basis
  • Able to support students in a variety of subject areas with planning, organization and time management
  • Can maintain student records, follow IEP recommendations and/or a student support plan (SSP), and review strategies
  • Can prepare additional resources and materials to support students with learning differences
  • Experience working with classroom teachers to help them understand the needs of students
  • Experience working with children in large groups
  • Can help facilitate games and activities for students
  • Has a positive attitude and works well with others
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
  • Responsible for supervising students in VTT's After School (Bayit) Program.
  • Ensure student safety and that students comply with school rules, ensuring appropriate behavior.
  • Intervene in potentially unsafe play situations and facilitate conflict resolutions between students.
  • Walking and standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Required to circulate the school grounds, focus on your surroundings and remain alert at all times.
  • Formal education/training is an asset.
  • Consent to a criminal (“CRC”) record/vulnerable sector check and provide a resulting valid CRC
  • Maintain, at all times, the legal authorization to work in Canada

Hourly rate: $24 - $29 DOE
