Position Overview:
Penny Appeal Canada is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant for the Canada Summer Jobs program. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a meaningful impact on our organization's operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Penny Appeal Canada team, including filing, data entry, and document management.
  • Assist with the coordination of events, meetings, and conferences, including scheduling, logistics, and communications.
  • Respond to inquiries from donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external use.
  • Support the finance team with basic accounting tasks, such as expense tracking and invoice processing.
  • Conduct research on relevant topics and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and procedures at all times.


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies or recent graduate (within the past year).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in humanitarian work and a commitment to Penny Appeal Canada's mission and values.
  • Previous administrative or office experience is an asset but not required.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (international students are not eligible)
