Your mission:

The Product Configuration Coordinator is a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills who thrives in a dynamic and changing environment. The ideal candidate is approachable, helpful, and precise and will be capable of multi-tasking. This role requires long periods of focused reading and typing and the ability to respond and adapt quickly. The candidate will have proven experience with process improvement.

In this role you will:

  • Develop, coordinate, and publish part numbers for new products, including finished goods and sub-assemblies.
  • Coordinate gathering of data for regulatory compliance, enforce part number creation structure guidelines and publish part numbers for raw material.
  • Assist in the communication of product configuration requirements between Supply Chain and Production to facilitate material planning, order fulfillment and execution.
  • Accountable for complete accuracy of the Bills of Materials in Microsoft Dynamics (MRP system)
  • Create and release complex Bills of Material for New Product Introduction based on input from Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain and Manufacturing, to ensure that the BOMs have the correct structure as well as the correct components and quantities.
  • Ensure Manufacturing routing information is accurate and provide guidance for determining the path raw materials will flow within production.
  • Analyze all Engineering Change Orders to ensure that each level of the multi-level BOM is revised in accordance with the requested change order.
  • Liaise with appropriate stakeholders to determine the impact of costing changes and update BoM's accordingly.
  • Analyze and report on the cost impact of BOM updates with regards to inventory values, variances, and cost of labor.
  • Participate in BOM related support for engineering, production and purchasing.
  • Conduct regular and thorough reviews of existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Advise on best practices for documenting changes on new and existing products.
  • Facilitate any discussions that are required to resolve issues relating to BOMs, part number creation and maintenance.
  • Backup to Change Coordinator including: ECO Processing, Forecast Maintenance and, Revision Coordination and Processing

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar capacity
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to simplify complex topics in a professional and approachable manner.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as work independently/take initiative when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and BoM's.
  • Knowledge of GP Dynamics would be an asset
