Reporting to the Supervisor, Landfill, the Municipal Worker 2 will:
- Provide direction to incoming traffic for designated disposal areas.
- Screen incoming landfill materials.
- Monitor the leachate and storm pond levels.
- Conduct site inspections and maintenance including: litter collection and facility housekeeping.
- Update landfill signage for designated disposal areas.
- Manage the recycling area for content of disposal materials.
- Complete work-related documents and records.
- Conduct sampling for analytical testing for the storm pond and sump waste site.
- Provide coverage to the gate attendant and equipment operator.
- Participate in the City of Lloydminster's Safety Management System.
- Assist supervisor during the Household Waste Round Up and Pitch-in week events.
- Other related duties, from time to time as required.
Shift work is required, summer schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off:
- Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
- Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Sunday 12:00 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operator's License (registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan) with a clear driving record.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools in accordance with applicable safety standards.
- Intermediate computer skills are required
- Heavy equipment operating experience would be considered an asset.
- The ability to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs).
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral).
- Prior customer service skills would be considered an asset.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, prior to start date.
