Role Summary: Located in Caswell Hill we and are seeking positive leader to serve our community! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who'd like to join a charming little Gas & Convenience Store. The ideal candidate for this role is outgoing, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
This role requires standing, counting and ordering inventory, lifting 20-30 pound convenience items, interacting with customers, working with our POS and backend systems, and managing employees. Role Responsibilities:
- Management - oversee day-to-day operations, ensure employees have the tools to succeed and prepare financial and operational and reports
- Maintaining staff levels by recruiting, hiring, training, motivating and developing individuals to become members of the Railway team, and always ensuring excellent customer service.
- Observing employees and provide consistent and honest feedback.
- Conducting store meetings as needed with employees.
- Implementing and enforcing established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.
- Monitoring and counting cash over/short, inventory and shrinkage.
- An active member of our Occupational Health and Safety Committee as well as addressing security issues and reporting any and all unsafe conditions.
- Sales - assisting customers; answering their questions and making knowledgeable recommendations.
- Fuel - tracking fuel deliveries, fuel inventory, fuel pricing and profitability as well as tracking local fuel pricing trends and reacting appropriately.
- Delegating duties and tasks to assistant manager, supervisors and cashiers, to meet objectives and maximize resources and profitability.
- Communicating company policy, standards and procedures to staff.
- Resolve customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner notifying the General Manager when necessary.
- Actively assisting customers using our POS system.
- Inventory - purchasing inventory. ordering inventory, counting inventory, moving inventory, unpacking boxes, and stocking shelves.
- Evaluating inventory levels, and conducting cycle counts.
- Other duties as directed by General Manager.
Requirements:
- Must have excellent communication skills - you will be required to interact with clients in a professional and engaging manner
- Must be 19 years of age
- Must be able to lift 20 - 30 pounds
- Available to work on evenings and weekends if required
- The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a retail store management position
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
Hours: Full-time (40+ hours/week)
Compensation: $60,000 or based on experience
