Human Resources Assistant

Full Time, Temporary: 8 weeks (Canada Summer Jobs)

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Provides general People & Culture administrative support including, but is not limited to filing, scanning, drafting, and editing correspondence.
  • Assist with the administration of our benefits, pension, and payroll.
  • Coordinates and monitors administrative functions to ensure completion of work accurately and within established time frames.
  • Enters and records data in ADP Workforce Now and produces ad hoc reports when needed.
  • Provides project/special assignment support, gathers information, conducts Internet and other research on a variety of People & Culture topics as required.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the employee self-service portal.
  • Provide assistance to staff regarding benefit inquiries.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Customer service oriented with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent administrative, time-management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in database entry, preferably ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ability to work with private and confidential material.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
Eligibility

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
