S3 Group Ltd. is currently recruiting for a Plant Manager to join our team at our location in Swift Current, SK. This is a full-time position starting immediately.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, production, quality, safety, and personnel management. Ideally you will have a strong background in manufacturing management and a proven track record of driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. This role will require hands-on leadership and the ability to adapt to the unique challenges and opportunities within this environment.


Tasks and Duties:

Through the team he/she develops around them, the Plant Manager is responsible for executing our corporate values of integrity, character, and honour, believing that joy is the satisfaction experienced throughout all circumstances when our behavior is consistent with our values. Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in strategy sessions with other S3 business unit leadership.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance metrics.
  • Implementing continuous improvements.
  • Dynamic problem-solving.
  • Building relationships within and between teams.
  • Pursuit of corporate business goals.
  • Promotion of a respectful, accountable and challenging work environment.
  • Mentoring others, often with hands-on coaching at various levels of the organization.
  • Management and allocation of company assets.
  • Leading operations, accounting, engineering, and sales teams. Including but not limited to:
  • P&L performance of the company including:
    • Sales
    • Direct costs of production, including direct labour and materials
    • Overhead management
    • Operating costs
  • Effective management of resources entrusted to the company including:
  • Capital budget requests
  • Preventative maintenance schedules
  • Inventory management
  • Employee management
  • Cash flow management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the COO

Experience & Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a related degree or professional designation, however, equivalent training and experience will be considered, in addition to:

  • Relevant business experience with five years or more in a leadership role
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or agricultural environment
  • Knowledge of the agricultural industry
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, financial and inventory control systems
