*Pay Range: $20.00 - $28.00 CAD hourly

Position Summary:

Company 3 / Method Studios is looking for a Digital Delivery Technician to join it's team! In this role, the technician will use technical abilities to prepare, transcode/encode, and package media based on the specifications designated for each project. They will maintain the expected Company 3 standards of quality and accuracy for finished physical and digital deliveries through standardized procedures and close communication with Company 3 Producers and Management.

NOTE: This is an afternoon/evening hours position: ~3pm - 11pm.

Main Duties:

The Digital Delivery Technician will transcode/encode material to specifications provided by Company 3 or Post clients. They will verify any required metadata is accurate and provided along with deliveries as needed. They will ensure all image and sound packages are formatted to the correct requirements. They will digitize media from physical sources and perform conversions to various global standards. They will evaluate quality of created media, alerting Producers and Deliverables Supervisor of any technical issues. Other duties include:

  • Coordinate with other team members on the timing of deliveries for QC or Data IO management.
  • Troubleshoot problematic media and processing issues with support from the Deliverables Supervisor.
  • Report all project activity, progress updates, and any potential concerns to the Producers and Deliverables Supervisor.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by recognizing and meeting the needs of clients.
  • Relay any technical, operational, or support concerns in an effective and timely manner.
  • Provide assistance and technical information to clients, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Take part in training opportunities and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the mission and values of Company 3.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.


What You Bring:
The ideal candidate will bring a working knowledge of a variety of post-production software such as DaVinci Resolve, Colorfront Transkoder, Telestream Vantage and Caption Maker Pro. They will bring experience with DCP creation and playback an asset. They will bring a familiarity with a variety of digital source file and delivery formats. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:

  • Comfort with using Windows, Mac OS, and Linux platforms.
  • Technical understanding of various film & television specifications and standards.
  • Ability to evaluate, learn, and implement new software and hardware.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off.
