The Role

The Head of Product Innovation will be responsible for the successful development of Whitefox innovative membrane solutions. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the incumbent will also supervise the Product and Laboratory teams.

  • Provide technical and scientific leadership for the product and laboratory teams in development of new high-performance materials (polymers, metals, etc.) for membranes, pottings, seals & housings for existing and new process applications.
  • Manage the Technology Readiness Road Map leading to commercialization, including:
    • Agile and Iterative Project Management
    • Proof of Concept and Prototyping
    • Adoption the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Approach
    • Market Validation and Piloting
  • In collaboration with the People Team, oversee the development and maintenance of a Health and Safety program;
    • Maintain documentation related to compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations, policies and best practices.
    • Ensure all employees on the Product and Laboratory teams have the skills and training needed to do their jobs in a healthy and safe manner.
  • Develop and maintain a market research approach to understand the voice of the customer, industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration to ensure alignment between product development efforts and market requirements.
  • Establish and maintain collaboration relationships with external partners, including suppliers, customers, research institutions, and funding bodies. Leverage partnerships to accelerate innovation, reduce development costs, and facilitate market entry.
  • IP Management through team training to apply for and maintain patents, develop the framework to safeguard know-how and trade secrets.
  • Guide the teams with respect to recipe development and Support lab team regarding analytics & QC.
  • Originate test plans, conduct testing & analyze results.
  • Support implementation of fabrication procedures (QC, economics)
  • Reconciliation of field observations with lab results.
  • Create and maintain concise, accurate, and traceable documentation.
  • Maintain existing & implement new collaborations with industry and academia.

What you'll bring

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Membrane Science, or related discipline
  • 10+ years related experience, preferably within a polymer membrane commercialization environment
  • Experience in managing technical teams
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, Excel in particular
  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, experience when analyzing and interpreting experimental data
  • Strong documentation discipline
