It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Under the guidance of the Supply Chain Supervisor 2, the Supply Chain Operator conducts the daily operations in one of the various positions in the Supply Chain department. The operator will have the opportunity to be trained on the five operator rate positions in the department as skill and ability is gained.

Additional responsibilities of the Supply Chain Operator include:

  • Assisting with the loading and placement of all products from the Board Lines and/or Joint Treatment Departments.
  • Exercising personal safety, promoting and enforcing safety among crew members.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the RPM Program including supporting, scheduling and maintaining all rules and procedures related to the Supply Chain's RPM initiative.
  • Reading and completing documented inspection procedures.
  • Following instructions on printed work orders to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintaining a high standard for housekeeping within the work area.
  • Assisting in the implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing/mining environment is preferred
  • Must be willing and capable of operating a Fork Truck for the purposes of warehousing, loading and unloading various products
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions or hazards within the work area
  • Computer skills required for data entry and reporting, and for reviewing or revising documents using Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook for work-related emails
  • Ability to learn the operation of plant equipment
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates the ability to cooperate with co-workers in areas of safety, quality, production/maintenance, and understands importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements
