Office Manager – 37.5 hrs/week - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager will support the role of the Director of Human Resources & Administration with all aspects of Human Resources management. This role will support management to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment. The Human Resources Manager's work will include components of recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, occupational health and safety, HR database management/customization, performance management, training and requirements tracking, absence management, policy review, diversity and inclusion, staff wellness, and interpretation of the collective agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree/diploma in Human Resources. In the absence of a post-secondary degree/diploma, a relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources work experience in a unionized environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a senior Human Resources role.
  • Experience supporting and training staff.
  • Valid BC Driver's license
  • Access to and use of a personal vehicle on a daily basis
  • Maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record check throughout employment
  • Proof of 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Experience in the social services and/or non-profit sector an asset

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to behave in an ethical and discrete manner including ensuring appropriate confidentiality
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Human Resources applicable legislation, and collective agreement interpretation
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work in an environment subject to changing deadlines and interruptions
  • Detail oriented with priority given to accuracy while frequently working under the pressure of meeting deadlines
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately take concise meeting notes
  • Experience using BambooHR an asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule on an occasional basis to support after hours staff orientation sessions, as a backup to the Director of Human Resources and Administration

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

  • $80,000 - $85,000 annual salary
