RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager of Finance

LOCATION: Barrie (165 Ferris Lane)

POSITION TYPE: Temporary, Full-Time Contract (8 weeks with possible 3-week extension)

HOURS OF WORK: 35 per week

COMPENSATION: $19.62 per hour

INTRODUCTION:

New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children's mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To provide administrative support to management and other employees and assist with special projects.

  1. Provide administrative support to the Finance and People and Culture (Human Resources) departments.
  2. Help digitize and file electronic records.
  3. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of employee records and ensuring accuracy.
  4. Assist in reviewing and updating some tools, templates and guides for formatting and some content using digital technology skills.
  5. Support the development and/or review of smaller projects.
  6. In collaboration with the Manager, develop, review and revise policy and procedures and program documents.
  7. Data entry into various databases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Post-Secondary Education in Business, Finance, Administration or Human Resources; completed or in progress.
  2. Intermediate skills in Excel.
  3. Experience working in an office setting an asset.
  4. Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at start of employment and be able to work in Canada. Must meet other Canada Summer Jobs requirements.

  6. Demonstrates awareness for the backgrounds, values, beliefs and traditions of staff, clients, families and communities we serve.
  7. Commits to ongoing training to build the knowledge, awareness and skills that contribute to creating a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and families.
  8. Confident, articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.
  9. Performs data entry with high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  10. Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  11. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  12. Effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
  13. French language is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to work flexible hours including evening hours, if required.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Willingness to travel to other agency offices and the community using personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license with minimum G2.
