Our Northstar Access yard in Port Coquitlam, BC is where we house and store our gear and equipment. We are currently looking to grow our team through the addition of a Swing Stage Mechanic. The Mechanic facilitates the maintenance and movement of our swing stage and scaffold gear to our customers who rent the material or have us assemble it for their project. Our Swing Stage Mechanics are responsible for the inspecting, maintaining, servicing, shipping, and receiving of our gear at our yard operations, as well as servicing equipment onsite at customer locations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Safety checks and inspections of gear and equipment
  • Perform part inspections on serialized assets
  • Maintain Hilti asset management system
  • Complete equipment maintenance /technical repairs both at our yard and onsite at customer locations
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles in a safe manner with lifting up to 100lbs
  • Preparing orders and ensuring gear accuracy
  • Counting, stacking, and organizing swing stage/ scaffold gear
  • Responsible for keeping the swing stage shop and yard clean and organized
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to safe work practices and the Northstar Scaffold Safety Philosophy
  • Use and clean tools required on the worksites
  • May operate company vehicle to deliver gear or visit worksites
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma or working towards one
  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic on mechanized access solutions preferred
  • 2+ years of technical expertise in maintaining and servicing swing stages required
  • Class 5 license
  • Forklift license an asset
  • Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs
  • A team player who works well with others and train new members as required
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Swing stage and scaffolding knowledge an asset
