The Ask:

We are looking to find a Vice President in Toronto (or elsewhere in Canada) to spearhead business development and drive the growth of our Toronto office. The ideal candidate has superior client service record, an impressive professional network, and proven track record with new business development.

  • Is experienced in strategic planning and running medium to large-scale projects for a wide range of industries through corporate comms, public affairs, digital customer engagement, and crisis management, with a strong emphasis on leveraging these skills for new business development and market expansion.
  • Is a quick and life-long learner and a credible expert who adheres to best practices in PR/communications and is also innovative in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities. This individual thrives on crafting unique solutions that drive business growth and transcend traditional methods!
  • Is a natural leader with a network of industry contacts and a get-it-done attitude
  • Is intensely growth-oriented, excited about the prospect of progressing with the firm, and deeply invested in driving its expansion.
  • Demonstrates creativity and the ability to seize opportunities and generate results, delivering maximum value to our clients in accordance with our value-based model

Requirements

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of communications experience, including more than three (3) years in a public relations firm and more than three (3) years in a management role
  • Experience in managing large and medium-scale corporate communication and communication/marketing projects
  • Experience serving a variety of industries, regionally and nationally managing internal and external teams
  • Proven track record with new business development, including demonstrated results in client portfolio growth and revenue increase in previous organizations
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Diploma or degree in public relations/communications from a recognized College or University or equivalent experience

The Vice President participates in the planning and execution of various projects, through the following activities:

  • Strategic planning and ongoing client counsel
  • Superior writing skills, with an emphasis on strategic plans
  • Management of internal and external teams
  • Participation in integrated communications campaigns including various corporate and marketing communication disciplines
  • Development and execution of processes in the management of issues or crises
  • Prospecting and development of new clients; participation in calls for tenders and drafting of RFP responses

Compensation
