We like to provide you with ample time to enjoy your life. This position, as well as all field positions at Intricate, are typically 8 paid days on, and 6 days off rotation. This means you will enjoy 6‐days off every shift.


Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and competency with an hourly rate range of $28.00-$45.00 per hour, plus two weeks of annual vacation pay, paid out as a percentage each pay period.

Job Description

The role of the Instrument Technician may be completing Instrumentation oilfield maintenance. This can include EFM gas, liquid meter, and device verifications. Technicians are expected to provide a limited amount of sampling and verification of Flare, Fuel, and Vent data while on site. Additionally, you may be required to support other aspects of service lines within Intricate as necessary, such as CSU and Construction activities.
Note you must reside in the Grande Prairie / Dawson Creek / Fort St. John area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete technical troubleshooting and field maintenance
  • Complete wellsite and facility instrumentation shutdown checks and inspections
  • Complete EFM gas calibrations and verifications
  • Complete on site liquid meter verifications
  • Understand, interpret and troubleshoot Basic RTU, EFM, and PLC configurations
  • Interpret P&ID's and measurement schematics
  • Validate fuel, flare, and vent data for on site equipment inventories
  • Complete gas and liquid sampling
  • Apply AER Directive 017 regulations and BCER measurement guidelines to work habits and procedures
  • Understand basic regulatory requirements and measurement best practices

  • Ability to organize and maintain all assigned equipment, including assigned Intricate vehicle
Qualifications
  • Instrument Mechanic Journeyman or Apprentice. Consideration given for Instrumentation engineering technologists and/or industrial electricians with strong instrumentation experience
  • In-depth knowledge of field activities, upstream oil and gas facilities
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office, Google, and general software
  • Required HSE training for field work
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 operator's license or equivalent with clean driver abstract
  • Work in vicinity of high pressure lines and electrical systems
  • Experience working with basic hand tools
  • Off-road driving experience an asset

Physical Requirements
