Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Junior Accountant with Ad Hoc Admin duties to work out of our head office at the Delta, BC branch. This is an on-site role,

Responsibilities:

  • A/R Duties:
    • Back up AR/ Credit Manager
    • Apply Cheque/ Credit Card/ EFT/ E-transfer Payments to Invoices
    • Deposit Cheques/ Process Credit Cards
    • Call/ Email Clients for Collections
    • Answer A/R Inquiries - Phones/ Emails/ Credit References
    • Releases for Order on Hold
    • Send Credit Reference Request for New Clients
  • A/P Duties:
    • Upload Cheques
    • Reconcile Multiple Bank Accounts
    • Reconcile GLs - Prepaid Others, Bank Contra, AP Contra
    • J/E: Expense Prepaid Invoices
  • Other Duties:
    • Monthly Journal Entries:
    • Loans, Audit, Prop tax, Insurance, Leases
    • Daily Sales Report
    • BOA & HSBC Cash Reports
    • Sales Report Analysis - Low-profit sales
    • Reception relief
    • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • An accounting diploma or university degree is required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of accounting professional experience required
  • Must have working experience in Canada for at least one year in an accounting capacity
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial tax regulations is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and phone)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Great attitude, positive, willingness to learn, and looking to grow
