The Role:

As a SAGD Second Class Power Engineer Operator, you will be at the forefront of our SAGD operations, responsible for the efficient and safe operation of our power engineering systems. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and effectiveness of our processes, directly impacting our success and sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor SAGD power engineering systems, ensuring they are running at optimum efficiency and within safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Perform routine checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to implement system improvements and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and safety incidents, adhering to regulatory and company standards.
  • Participate in safety drills and training, upholding the highest standards of workplace safety and environmental protection.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by providing feedback and suggestions on operational enhancements and efficiency optimizations.

Requirements:

  • Valid Second Class Power Engineering Certification with relevant experience in SAGD operations or a similar heavy industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain power engineering systems, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and address operational issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to work in a rotational shift pattern (7 days on / 7 days off) within a camp-based setting.
