Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for managing multiple projects and project managers within a portfolio. The Senior Project Manager will provide strong client relations and will be responsible for the overall profitability and success of every project under their control. The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and mentorship to multiple project teams.

  • Accountable for overseeing multiple project contract documents and ensures schedules and profitability targets are being maintained. Ensures compliance with the Baseline Schedule.
  • Active with client in the pre-construction phase of the project and ensures a seamless handoff to the Project Manager.
  • Accountable for teams' projects for profitability including the budget/cost control system preparation, maintenance, and forecasting.
  • Enforces contractual responsibilities and resolves escalated disputes. Ensuring the project is completed in compliance with the contract requirements.
  • Ensures that the Project Managers are “Doing what they are saying they will do”. Ensuring Project team is efficient, and tasks are completed timely. Holds regular Project Management meetings to build team effectiveness and collaboration.
  • Oversight of project cost reporting and forecasting to ensure consistency across project management teams.
  • Oversee project documentation to ensure project management teams are consistent with protocols and procedures as they pertain to CCM standards.
  • Manage the RFP's and Tendering of Projects as they are developed by the Project Management Teams.
  • Manage the monthly report and project execution plan for each project to ensure project management teams are consistent with reporting.
  • Accountable for project organization and staffing. Ensures projects are aligned with the right people with the right skills set. Responsible for identifying, attracting, and onboarding new hires to ensure a seamless integration in the organization and on the project team.
  • Liaise with the Project Managers and Accounting team in reviewing project monthly billings to tracks costs to ensure budgets are maintained.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with Owners, Designers, Consultants and Subcontractors.
  • Collaborates with Senior Project Managers to ensure Project Management practices, processes and procedures are consistent across all teams.
  • Promotes a collaborative and team atmosphere across all projects within the Senior Project Manager's portfolio.
  • Mentor, coach, develop and performance manage project teams.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Post-secondary education degree or diploma in a construction related area of study.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct project management work experience working on high-rise residential projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Management, Risk Management practices and techniques, procurement, construction documents, contracts and contract law, Cost Control, Forecasting & Project Cost Reporting and Scheduling & Constructability.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multiple project teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and company operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures.
  • Strong conflict management skills and the ability to be persuasive and motivating.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams and to attract, identify and develop talent.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with all business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong Time Management for Multiple Projects
  • Workforce Planning – Identifies project needs and can identify the right talent to fill those needs.
  • Leadership Skills – knows how to build teams and lead them in the right direction
  • Change Management – supports change initiatives and communicates change by leading teams through the change management process
  • Team Development – can provide the right development and sources needed to improve development.
