About the role:veritree is inventing new approaches to digitally monitoring, reporting, and verifying (dMRV) nature-based climate solutions. As such, we're seeking a values-driven leader and builder to elevate the company's overall product strategy, development, and engineering efforts. This critical role will blend strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership to ensure the successful delivery and iteration of the veritree platform, ultimately unlocking billions in investment for nature-based solutions.
This leader will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, help set the product vision, and lead the engineering team to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate must:
- Have a deep understanding of platform architecture;
- Have engineering leadership experience scaling a product/platform with >$10M ARR in revenue, at least 3x;
- Have entrepreneurial drive and a willingness to help the team tactically when needed;
- Be pragmatic in their decision-making, blending best practices with the acute needs of the team and customers.
This role's key outcomes are:
- Help set the product vision and build/iterate veritree's long-term product roadmap.
- Build and optimize the team and product/engineering processes for scale.
- Optimized delivery of veritree's product priorities with tradeoffs articulated and understood by veritree executives.
Product Strategy and Vision
- In partnership with veritree leadership, you will develop and articulate a clear product strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals.
- You will lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive product roadmap.
Technology Leadership
- You will provide technical and practical leadership and guidance to product and engineering teams.

Product Development and Process Building
- You will oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept to delivery.

- You will iterate and optimize veritree's product/engineering processes to drive efficient product delivery and enable knowledge diffusion throughout the company.
- You will implement and oversee quality assurance and DevOps processes to ensure products meet high standards of performance and reliability.
- You will embrace and champion agile methodologies (Scrum) to facilitate efficient and iterative product development.
- You will work with the team to plan and schedule product releases.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- You will collaborate with executives, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure alignment between product development and business objectives.
- You will foster communication and collaboration between product management, engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
Innovation and Research
- You will drive innovation within the product portfolio, identifying opportunities for new features, enhancements, and technologies.
- You will conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product strategy.
- You will stay abreast of technological trends, assessing their relevance to the company's products and goals.
Risk and Financial Management
- You will collaborate with Finance and executive leadership to develop and manage budgets related to product development and engineering activities.
- You will ensure adequate resource allocation to meet project deadlines and goals.
- You will identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and engineering projects.
- You will implement strategies to address challenges and unforeseen issues.

Professional Requirements
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles overseeing both product management and engineering functions. Experience at a platform company is a significant plus.
- In-depth understanding of software development processes, technologies, and industry trends.
