Hourly Rate: $17.50Position End Date: March 31, 2027Deadline to apply: Until position is filled
We are currently recruiting for casual hourly Minor Officials for Athletics and Recreation. The focus for this position will be to provide support for SAIT Trojan athletic events. Minor Officials will be responsible for home game engagement, enhancement, and promotion.
How you'll contributeContent Provider, Leader of Portfolio/Component- Spectator Engagement, Ticket/Admissions, Ambiance (music, lights, video)
- Home Game Table (statistics, scoresheets, game film, website interface)
- Sport Broadcasting and Production Logistics
- Sport Media Management and Brand Expansion/Protection
- Digital Engagements, Media Enhancements and Video Promotion
- Trojans Broadcasting Crew
- Assist with setup and takedown of facilities
- Promotions and Social Media Content (Storytellers, Tweeters, Posters)
- Trojans Digital Channels and Game Stories
- Home Game Scripts & other innovative opportunities students may wish to bring forward including advanced digital content,
- CCAA pre participation training coordination
- ACAC pre participation certification coordination
- SAIT pre participation media coordination
- Spectator Relations and Fan Engagement
- Sport Scorekeeping, Time keeper, Ticket Office duties (ticket taker), Goal/Line judge, Individual Statistics, 3-Ball, and Game Film exchange
- Mascot management and Sport Specific Event Support
- Home Game video, photography & graphics
- In house DJ, Announcing and Colour commentating
- Esports Shout casting and Video analysis
- Special Functions & other opportunities students wish to bring forward
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Participation in sports
- Previous customer service experience
- First Aid and CPR certification (asset)
- Respect in Sport certification (asset)
- Ability to travel within Calgary
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Current students or alumni of SAIT's ICT programs (Digital Media, Communications, or Production)
- Previous event experience
- Knowledge of sport rules, officiating, or scorekeeping
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Current SAIT students preferred
- Experience in roles such as camera operator, broadcaster/commentator, video production (pre-roll), scorekeeper, sport statistician, goal judge, or content creator
