Job Title: Manager, Revenue Management Optimization

Department: Revenue Management (390)

Position Status: Permanent

Reporting Manager: Director Revenue Management

The role of the Manager, Revenue Management Optimization is to introduce a scientific approach to the practice of Revenue Management at Air Canada Vacations. The role will identify opportunities for revenue optimization, explore methods to crystalize each opportunity and then lead the implementation to realize the benefits.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Develop a strong knowledge of ACV’s product, pricing, inventory, and distribution and ACV customer segments
  • Develop an expertise in ACV’s data environment and reporting tools
  • Perform deep dive analysis into trends, inventory and rates, combining analytical reasoning and commercial knowledge to highlight problems and their implications
  • Manipulate large data sets, analyze them to draw relevant conclusions, and communicate the information to support the commercial decision-making process
  • Develop insightful models, tools, and processes to support revenue management user workflows
  • Lead and coach Science specialist and Power BI analyst
  • Develop methods to scientifically make pricing recommendations to increase margin
  • Formulate methods to optimize tour operator revenue and business strategies related to volume growth and supplier preference
  • Explore and assess technology solutions that could be helpful in improving the workflow of RM Analysts and rolling out revenue optimization strategies
  • Work with Air Canada and external partners to find and implement methods to optimize revenue
  • Assess the results of strategies implemented and refine as required
  • Take responsibility for continuous improvement of revenue optimization techniques
  • Take responsibility for educating RM Analysts on scientific RM techniques and help team adapt to new processes and methods
  • Work with Air Canada to understand its RM roadmap and look for synergy and partnership opportunities to maximize revenue for the overall corporation
  • Other tasks as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Master’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience with predictive modeling or machine learning, revenue management, forecasting, optimization, or demand elasticity modeling
  • Knowledge and experience in revenue management practices for the travel industry is a key requirement
  • Specific experience with the tour operator’s business model is strong asset
  • Knowledge of revenue management practices in large airlines is a strong asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously, synthesize complex situations, and communicate at multiple levels of expertise to gain buy-in
  • Self-starter and ability to work under pressure, changing priorities and tight deadlines with limited supervision
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, data modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze datasets and transform them into clear business insights (knowledge in Python, R, SQL, or other programming languages)
  • Experience with predictive modeling or machine learning
  • Based on equal qualifications, preference will be given to bilingual candidates
