We are currently seeking a Retail Operations Optimization Specialist who will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey. The primary purpose of this role is to assess and improve current Retail related initiatives, programs and systems to support increased adoption and performance. This involves thoroughly examining existing initiatives, programs and systems within the organization to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with goals. It requires strong partnership and collaboration with supporting functions such as Marketing, Branding, Human Resources and IT. The role may also involve identifying areas for improvement, recommending changes or enhancements, and implementing tactics to revamp initiatives for better outcomes. Additionally, this role will ensure all systems are optimized and adopted in order to support retail needs. This role supports improved operations, sales performance and growth of our retail teams.

The Retail Operations Optimization Specialist for Roots will be responsible for the following:

  • Work in partnership with retail teams to evaluate and monitor effectiveness of programmes.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with corporate personnel and field teams in order to best understand organizational needs.
  • Manage the development and distribution of all tools and processes for field teams.
  • Manage miscellaneous projects related to the retail operations.
  • Be the Retail Operations Liaison with Ecom and support Endless Aisle/New Store (Roll Outs), Device Allocation, Validate monthly Roots Delivers goal setting in partnership with IT and Ecom.
  • Integrate omni-channel programs into all forms of field accountability: Store Visit Report, Roots selling model ‘CANADA’, and CAMP.
  • Assist and collaborate with business partners to develop and roll-out new store environment tools and material, to enhance ease of customer experience and omni-channel execution for Roots retail staff.
  • Assist the retail business manager with daily administrative tasks
  • Assess current systems/programs and provide guidance on improvements.
  • Analyze, and interpret data related to store systems and processes to identify findings and trends, allowing for informed decision-making
  • Assess, recommend and partner with other key stakeholders to optimize our retail systems to adapt with the business.
  • Establish yourself as a voice for the retail teams and build trusting relationships with other teams/ departments.
  • Retail Enablement – continuous improvement, project integration and store communications
  • Partner with HR and champion all communications and learning through our LMS – Yoobic
  • Develop and disseminate all retail communications
  • Collaborate with others to determine training needs and partner with HR to design, develop and distribute training

Top candidates for the Retail Operations Optimization Specialist role will have the following:

  • Post-secondary degree in business or retail management
  • 3-5 years of retail leadership
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of teamwork and multi-tasking
  • Ability to provide feedback
  • Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with NewStore, Sales Force, Store Force, Relate, Power of BI, Frontier, Dayforce, MA (Merchandising Analytics), and Apple Products is an asset, but not required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, and manage time effectively
  • Possesses a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Passion for brand, fashion industry and customer experience
