Millcroft Inn & Spa is currently seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Position Summary: To ensure that laundry is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Retrieve, sort and load soiled laundry into washing machines
  • Load clean laundry into the dryers
  • Sort and folds laundry when dry
  • Ensure items to be ironed are put into automatic presser machine (Niagara properties only)
  • Count, sort and check laundry items to ensure proper inventory of all items
  • Inspect all items for damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discards
  • Logging information for count, damage, thinning, stains, wrinkles and discarded items (Niagara properties only)
  • Monitors all machines and reports any machine breakdowns to the Maintenance department
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties Limited products and services
  • Actively seeking ways to meet guests’ product or service needs
  • All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

  • WHMIS training an asset
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Work well with minimal to no supervision
  • Ethical and honest

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive lifting, bending, pushing, pulling
