The Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements Project is a significant undertaking by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to expand and modernize Bloor-Yonge station – Canada’s busiest subway hub. Paid Time Off We currently have an opening in Toronto, ON for a: BIM Coordinator The BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination, and management of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes throughout the project lifecycle. How will you contribute to the team? To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Coordinate and manage BIM processes and requirements for the project.
Oversee the development, coordination, and maintenance of BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure models are coordinated and aligned with project requirements.
Perform model reviews and clash detection to identify and resolve design and coordination issues.
Coordinate the integration of architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical models.
Support the implementation and maintenance of BIM standards, procedures, workflows, and the BIM Execution Plan.
Ensure all BIM models and deliverables comply with project requirements, company standards, and applicable industry standards.
Maintain model accuracy, consistency, file structure, and version control.
Support project teams by providing BIM-related technical guidance and resolving model coordination issues.
Identify and recommend improvements to BIM processes and digital coordination practices to improve project efficiency and collaboration. Education and Experience:
Diploma from an Architectural, Engineering or Construction Management program.
A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in BIM coordination, BIM modelling, design coordination, or a related role is an asset.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams such as designers, engineers, architects and project teams.
Strong understanding of construction processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in digital tools like BIM, VR, AR and VDC.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in digital models and simulations.
Proficiency in BIM software like Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
Ability to analyze and interpret data to improve construction processes.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve technical issues.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in digital modelling and simulations.
Ability to train and support team members in using digital technologies.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
Ability to drive innovation and implement new digital solutions in construction projects. Think you're the right fit?
