- Up to $160,000 | No Weekends | Clinical Leadership & Mentorship This position combines hands-on clinical medicine with genuine leadership responsibility. You'll have the opportunity to influence medical standards, mentor fellow veterinarians and help shape the continued development of the hospital, while benefiting from a weekday-focused schedule with no weekends. About the Practice
This established small animal hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats within a friendly, collaborative and client-focused environment.
The practice offers a broad range of general veterinary services, allowing doctors to manage patients throughout every stage of life while building long-term relationships with clients and their pets. Services and clinical capabilities include:

As Medical Director, you'll remain clinically active while taking responsibility for supporting the hospital's veterinary standards, team development and continued clinical improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing high-quality medical and surgical care
• Managing routine and urgent appointments
• Supporting veterinarians with complex medical and surgical cases
• Reviewing and developing clinical protocols
• Maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical compliance
• Mentoring veterinarians and veterinary students
• Supporting early-career DVM development
• Providing structured clinical feedback and coaching
• Encouraging collaborative case discussions
• Working closely with practice management
• Supporting recruitment and development of veterinary talent
• Helping improve the overall client experience
• Contributing to hospital quality improvement initiatives
• Supporting effective triage and patient care transitions

You'll have the ability to influence protocols, support your veterinary colleagues and help maintain consistently high clinical standards while continuing to see your own patients and develop your individual clinical interests. Leadership & Team Development
A significant part of the position will involve supporting the continued development of the veterinary team.
You'll help create an environment where doctors can openly discuss cases, ask questions and continue developing their clinical capabilities. This includes mentoring veterinary students and early-career doctors, providing constructive feedback and helping veterinarians build confidence in their medical decision-making. You'll also work alongside practice management on broader hospital objectives, using clinical and operational information to identify opportunities for improvement and recognize successes across the team.
