Jilani Group is a property management group based in Mississauga, Ontario, managing multiple commercial real estate buildings around the GTA. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial accounting aspects of our commercial rental real estate portfolio. Responsibilities:
* Prepare month-end journal entries, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliations to the sub ledger, understanding of intercompany balance sheets, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses and liabilities.
* Prepare monthly accounts receivable reports, prepare monthly rent rolls, vacancy loss reports.
* Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as prepare bank statements and deposit them.
* Assist property administrators and property managers.
* Ensure internal controls are followed, and all financial reports are delivered accurately and on time.
* Prepare and reconcile all common area maintenance (CAM) charges annually.
* Prepare government remittances and filings, HST reconciliations, and management fee reconciliations
* Identify and review old or significantly high accounts receivable balances for allowance setup or bad debt write-offs
* Maintain capital project files Work Location: Mississauga, next to Toronto Pearson Airport Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting from a Canadian institution
* Strong technical skills
* Knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping
* High attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members and clients
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel
* Highly attentive to detail
* Able to be a self-starter with ability to work independently. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within our company.
