As a Space Planning Leader, you will lead facility space management initiatives across Calgary Police Service (CPS) facilities by evaluating space, parking, and site capacity to meet evolving organizational needs. You will also provide strategic guidance and technical expertise on space allocation projects, support workplace planning for existing and new teams and help optimize the use of more than 40 leased and owned CPS facilities. Primary duties include:
- Coordinate facility and capital projects by facilitating meetings and gathering operational requirements.
- Review drawings, specifications, and consultant documents to ensure compliance with organizational needs and building codes.
- Lead project prioritization, business case development, employee relocations, and facility planning while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Manage project funding, financial reporting, and procure cost estimates for facility projects.
- Guide employee development through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and performance management.
- Coordinate meetings with clients and leadership to assess growth requirements and support operational planning.
- Oversee the maintenance of facility, parking, and site plans, including AutoCAD as-built drawings and master records.
- Coordinate documentation updates with Facility Analysts, Occupancy Planners, and Project Managers to ensure accurate and current facility records.
- Develop and update space standards while supporting compliance with ISC classification requirements.
- Administer space planning, signage, furniture, lease, rental, and project procurement contracts, including renewals and replacements.
- Monitor contract expenditures and prepare monthly reporting and analysis through Power BI.
Qualifications
- A 2-year diploma in Interior Design, Architectural Technologies, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management or Facility Management and a minimum of 8 years experience in construction; OR
- A degree in Interior Design, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, Architecture or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in construction.
- Previous experience with project coordination, cost estimation, scheduling, client relations, file management, and budgeting is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is also required.
- Proficiency in PowerBI is considered an asset.
- Professional certifications in Facilities Management or Project Management (for example, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), International Facility Management Association (IFMA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered an asset.

Compensation: Level P3 $104,938 - $131,172 per annum
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
