Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Site Manager, you will be an important contributor to help us reach our ambitious vision to be the best - for our residents, our employees, and our city. Primary duties include:

  • Manage the end-to-end unit turnover process to ensure vacant units are restored to Calgary Housing standards.
  • Maintain the condition, safety, and appearance of interior and exterior common areas.
  • Ensure all common areas, groundskeeping, snow removal, parking lot cleaning, and janitorial services are completed in accordance with the defined scope of work.
  • Monitor and inspect assigned properties for site conditions and assess units for renovations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of interior and exterior common areas.
  • Respond to on-site incidents, security issues, and emergency situations at assigned properties.
  • Provide limited informal leadership and operational coverage to support service continuity.
  • Ensure work completed in common areas and during unit turnovers meets contract requirements and Calgary Housing service standards.
  • Identify deficiencies and escalate in a timely manner and ensure root causes for ongoing deficiencies are addressed.
  • Support incident investigations and safety and security planning by assessing sites and identifying potential risks and concerns.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or CAEC [Canadian Adult Education certificate]) and at least 5 years of experience in residential property management, with a portfolio size of at least 300 units, including maintenance of the properties.
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation (such as the Provincial and Federal Operating agreements, Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Act) is required.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) and the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed courses in property or building management, accounting/financials, business, and/or budgeting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated customer focus.
  • The ability to adapt to high-stress situations and constantly changing priorities.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.

  • Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 22 months)
  • Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $39.00 - 52.14 per hour
  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
  • Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
