The Parks and Roads Services Branch is looking for a dedicated Yardworker - Stores to join our Branch Integrated Support Services team. Operating independently without direct supervision, you will be the driving force behind ensuring your store is fully stocked so you can provide PPE, small tools, and consumables for our branch. You will take pride in keeping our district yards secure, fully operational, and compliant with safety standards. By balancing meticulous record-keeping with active, day-to-day facility management, your work will directly ensure our field operations crews have exactly what they need to succeed. What will you do? - Manage end-to-end ordering and purchasing processes via SAP and Ariba, conduct vendor research, obtain competitive quotes, and handle corporate credit card transactions and reconciliations - Direct physical inventory processes, manage stock levels based on demand, issue goods, coordinate stock transfers, and oversee all shipping and receiving logistics - Oversee building and yard entry points, manage multiple district satellite yards, and handle corporate key control boxes using specialized digital systems - Perform routine safety inspections of yards and facilities, maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and audit emergency equipment like First Aid kits, AEDs, and fire extinguishers - Coordinate facility service requests (heating, electrical, cleaning), manage waste/recycle services, and oversee the safe transport and collection of hazardous materials - Create a resilient workplace by training team members on store management processes to ensure smooth vacation coverage and progression planning
