Are you a self-starter with experience in the property management processes, strong communication skills who isn’t afraid to take initiative? If so, then consider joining the Property Management team, with the Real Estate Branch, as a Property Manager! The Real Estate Branch combines real estate and land development expertise to create integration across a diverse portfolio: we own, lease and manage the City's inventory of real property (land, buildings, and facilities). We provide expert real estate services to the corporation and integrate multiple corporate interests so that Council can achieve its vision. This position reports to the General Supervisor of Property Management in support of various City of Edmonton properties. Portfolios managed by the Property Manager typically include low to intermediate value and risk and/or intermediate profile work including providing oversight and guidance to junior staff. What will you do? - Portfolio management including low to intermediate complex value, risk and or profile work, and difficult or escalated items including defaults and terminations - Within the portfolio, manages complex real property situations, which may include commercial and institutional properties for civic departments and related tenants; inspects property for alignment to lease and property services; assembles relevant information to estimate ongoing facility management - Lease interpretation and execution, including developing legal documents and understanding legal terminology - Delivers and coordinates daily property activity including maintenance requests, tenant/stakeholder communication, site inspection (i.e tenant move out, fire inspection), insurance appraisals, notice to comply, building assessment reports, custodial, security and tenant inquiries - Manages and is accountable to building requirements in relation to the lease/license within the portfolio - Ensures excellent tenant relations by providing first class management services through knowledge practice and personal contact - Identifies the need for building projects due to ongoing building operations, evaluations, life cycle requirements, in both owned and leased property, including tenant improvements - Perform other related duties as assigned
