Role Responsibilities

Great programs don't run themselves.

Behind every milestone celebration, training opportunity or big event is a team making sure employees have a positive experience.

As a Program Administrator, reporting to the Manager, Program Design and Delivery, you'll play an important role in delivering programs that help employees feel valued, supported, and connected to their work. In this role, you will:

  • Keep programs moving: Coordinate the administrative delivery of recognition and training initiatives, ensuring activities are completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
  • Manage critical information: Maintain records, track program activities, validate data, and ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • Build connections: Work with employees, ministries, vendors, and service providers to answer questions, resolve issues, and support program delivery.
  • Solve the tricky cases: Investigate eligibility questions, review records, and resolve unusual situations that require research, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Support senior leaders: Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and other program information for executives and senior leaders across government.
  • Improve how things work: Recommend practical improvements that make processes more efficient and effective.

To be successful in this role, you need to:

  • Be organized and detail-oriented: You can track deadlines, juggle several projects at once, and keep things running smoothly even when there is a lot happening.
  • Work the system: When something needs to be solved, you can figure out who to talk to, how to contact them, and what to do.
  • Communicate effectively: Whether you’re sending an email or chatting on Teams, you make sure your message is easy to understand and appropriate for the audience.
  • Exercise good judgment: You know how to assess a situation, evaluate options, and determine when an issue can be resolved independently or should be escalated.
  • Build strong working relationships: You work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and provide excellent service, even when dealing with sensitive or complex situations.
  • Be flexible and take initiative: You don’t just react to requests—you anticipate needs, spot opportunities for improvement, and take action to make things better for the whole team.
