What is the Opportunity?

ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) were chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project – the largest project in Metrolinx’s GO Expansion.

Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

As part of the ONxpress project, Aecon is looking for a qualified Project Coordinator to join our team.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Support project teams in coordinating tasks and activities across engineering and construction phases.
  • Assist in reviewing design packages, drawings, and specifications for constructability and compliance.
  • Help track and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
  • Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to support billing, invoicing, and budget tracking processes.
  • Support access planning and coordination for work on active rail corridors, including T-minus scheduling.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of project documentation, such as as-built drawings and turnover packages.
  • Track project deliverables, milestones, and timelines; provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the review and processing of change orders, scope adjustments, and associated cost implications.
  • Participate in quality assurance and safety processes to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Contribute to issue tracking, stakeholder communications, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Perform administrative and on-site support as needed to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

What You Bring to The Team

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination or engineering support within construction or EPC environments; experience with heavy civil or rail projects is an asset.
  • Familiarity with construction codes, industry standards, and project management principles.
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills for working within large, multidisciplinary teams.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growing within a fast-paced, high-impact infrastructure project.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
