What is the Opportunity? From fabrication and modularization to new builds, turnaround and maintenance, Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction and water infrastructure, providing clients in Canada and the U.S. with vertically integrated solutions and exceptional self-perform work. Reporting to the Manager of Labour Relations, the Labour Relations Administrator is responsible for providing transactional recruitment and onboarding support for the Trade Recruiters, and administrative support for Labour Relations. This position will assist with building and fostering a positive labour relations environment between our Project Teams and trade union partners. What You'll Do Here:

  • Responsible for working closely with work sites to ensure all transactions related to the employee life cycle are sent to the appropriate departments and saved correctly (new hire paperwork, terminations, benefits, rate/classification changes).
  • Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation and templates (offer letters, agreements, etc.).
  • Support the candidate onboarding experience, including candidates completing their client online orientation and working with the Project Recruiter to get candidates to project sites.
  • Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through the appropriate media, including professional organizations, career fairs/educational institutions, and other websites/social media forums.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of job descriptions as required.
  • Lead data audits.
  • Participate in committees and stakeholder committees.
  • Assist the Labour Relations team and perform other duties as required.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Demonstrated experience in administration is required; a minimum of 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration and/or Labour Relations or Human Resources is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflict are essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and function independently.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, are required.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to meetings and conferences.
