Who We Are
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.
What You'll Do:
Communications and Content Development
- Support the Communications and Community Relations team and client on a broad range of internal and external communications initiatives.
- Draft project communications materials, including construction notices, presentations, agendas and minutes, briefing notes, and event summaries.
- Develop engaging content for internal and external channels, including the company website, intranet, and LinkedIn.
- Support photography and video coordination, ensuring required safety reviews are completed.
Stakeholder and Community Relations
- Support stakeholder and community engagement activities, including attending public meetings, pop-up events, and outreach initiatives.
- Record and track stakeholder enquiries and public complaints, ensuring timely follow-up and escalation of issues where required.
Events and Project Coordination
- Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, community members, and government stakeholders.
- Prepare meeting materials and document minutes and action items.
- Support ongoing coordination between project teams, communications leads, and external stakeholders.
Administrative and Digital Support
- Maintain communication records, photo and video archives, and project documentation.
- Support the management of SharePoint, LinkedIn, and other communications platforms.
- Perform additional administrative and coordination tasks as required.
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, or a related role. Infrastructure or construction experience is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and communications tools such as Canva and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000.00-85,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
