At Saffron Hill Hospitality Group, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to provide day-to-day HR and administrative support across our Kitchen and Restaurant Group. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building relationships, keeping things organized, and helping Team Members and Leaders navigate the employee experience.
Meaningful Benefits
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Opportunities for professional development and continued learning
- A collaborative team environment
- The opportunity to contribute to a positive workplace culture across our hospitality operations
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the designated HR Leader, you will support recruitment, onboarding, employee records, scheduling, timekeeping, and general HR administration. You will play an important role in ensuring our processes are accurate, consistent, and responsive to the needs of our teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR questions
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, offer letters, new hire documentation, and orientation requirements
- Maintain employee records and HR system information, ensuring changes to employment status, roles, compensation, and personal information are accurate and appropriately authorized
- Coordinate Kitchen schedules and administer timecards, reviewing exceptions, following up on discrepancies, and flagging potential overtime or coverage concerns
- Liaise with Payroll and operational Leaders to resolve scheduling and timekeeping issues and ensure accurate information is submitted by deadlines.
- Track benefits enrolment, leave requests, return dates, required training, certifications, and other employment-related requirements
- Communicate approved HR policies and procedures, maintain required documentation, and identify potential compliance concerns
- Handle confidential employee information with discretion and follow established privacy, security, and records-retention practices
- Escalate sensitive or complex employee matters promptly and seek guidance when issues require additional HR expertise
About You
In addition to placing high value on collaboration, accountability, and service excellence, you bring an organized, proactive, and people-focused approach to supporting HR operations. You are comfortable balancing competing priorities, working independently, and building trusted relationships with Team Members and Leaders.
You also bring:
- A bachelor's degree or certificate with a focus in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three years of progressive HR experience, including exposure to employee relations and confidential employee matters
- Working knowledge of employment standards, human rights, and occupational health and safety requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accurate records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to work effectively with an off-site Leader while maintaining regular communication
- Experience in hospitality, restaurants, food production, or another environment with hourly employees and varied shifts is considered an asset
