What You'll Do:
  • Provide professional engineering support for underground and surface mining operations in areas such as mine planning and design, ventilation, ground control, rock mechanics, geological investigation, surveying and ongoing projects.
  • Perform engineering studies, technical analyses, calculations, and field investigations to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
  • Prepare engineering reports, designs, recommendations, and technical documentation with limited supervision.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions that consider safety, production, cost, and risk.
  • Support planning and execution of maintenance, operational, and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, geology, and external specialists to deliver engineering work and site priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance in assigned areas and support implementation of engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGNB, or eligible for immediate registration.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in mining or other heavy industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles, codes, standards, and technical analysis to moderately complex problems.
  • Strong technical, analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working in underground mining and shaft environments.
