What You'll Do:
  • Directs all aspects and daily operation of the Division to ensure efficiency and profitability
  • Plan, develop and organize the Division to achieve safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective objectives
  • Select, develop, motivate and recognize a key managerial staff capable of obtaining maximum results, and for providing a continuum of managerial talent for the future
  • Determine the optimum human resource level for all branches within the Division to meet sales requirements and maintain cost effectiveness; to assure the timely acquisition of required skills and disciplines; and to maintain favorable employee relations
  • Formulate and recommend an operations budget to Corporate Management and upon approval, monitor deviations and initiate corrective action in order to control costs
  • Reviews and analyses progress towards the achievement of sales forecasts and operational objectives on a regular basis, and initiates action as required. Ensures accurate sales forecasts and expected final results
  • Responsible for all aspects of human resource management within the Division including hiring, promoting, performance management, coaching and discharging within company policy and regulatory compliance
  • Drive a customer focused culture that focused on being the most farmer centric agronomic solutions provider
  • Analyses capital requirements and provides recommendations regarding capital budget needs
  • Plans and develops policy and procedures and ensures adherence
  • Budget process and execution for the Division
  • Review new technology in operations and provides recommendation to Senior Management
  • Negotiates contracts with vendor(s)
  • Develops acquisition and expansion strategies
  • Ensures all branches effectively promote Nutrien key products for the Division.
  • Complies and enforces all Nutrien and Industry regulatory and SH&E standards
  • Keep the Region Manager, Canada informed about significant issues and developments that might influence the achievement of overall growth and profit objectives
  • Performs other related duties as required

What You'll Bring:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferable in agronomy or a related field
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience required
  • 10+ years in a mentor, supervisor, or leadership role
  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience of farm supply marketing
  • Internal applicants may be considered in lieu of meeting minimum education and/or experience requirements

Required Skills:

  • Very high degree of oral and written communication capabilities and good listening skills
  • Good persuasive and motivational skills
  • Well-rounded knowledge of agricultural products and practices
  • Advanced business skills of branch management
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements
  • Thorough understanding of fertilizer and agricultural chemical usage
  • Required knowledge/understanding of branch operation and equipment
  • Computer skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and company agronomic programs
  • Understanding of the agricultural demands and practices of the division
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Manage during 'crisis situations' while maintaining professional behavior
  • Extensive travel by vehicle required
  • Ability to meet the Nutrien Ag Solutions policy requirement by completing a Criminal background check, Drug/alcohol testing, and Driving Record Abstract
