We're looking for our next Principal Product Designer, Design System. Could It Be You?

Most companies say design matters. We restructured around it. Design shapes company strategy here, and the bar keeps rising. We're hiring people who want to set that bar, not inherit it.

The Principal Product Designer, Design System is the architect of our foundations and the head coach who raises everyone's game. Our design system is becoming infrastructure, not a department — ownership is moving into every product team, and this is the person who makes that work. They report to the Head of Design as the flagship of our systems practice.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Re-founding the system for a decentralized org: the architecture, the governance, and a contribution culture that works with a hybrid, chapter-based team.

• Challenging what a design system even covers in 2026. UI is table stakes; motion, sound, 3D, and creative are where you'll take it next.

• Owning the path from Figma to the customer's hands — partnering with our Design Engineers to rethink how design becomes a product, and challenging the delivery model the industry defaults to.

• Coaching every product team toward systems fluency. Your success shows up in their work, not your library.

• Setting the technical standard at the deepest level of the craft: tokens, variables, theming, and component architecture.

• Question the machine itself — you know what a well-oiled design system looks like, and the job is asking how today's knowledge should reshape the tools and fundamentally change the operating model

• Have re-founded or fundamentally rebuilt a design system before: the architecture, the governance, and a contribution culture that thrives in a chapter-based team

• Have owned the path from Figma to the customer's hands, partnering closely with Design Engineers to challenge how design becomes product

• Set the technical standard at the deepest level of the craft — tokens, variables, theming, and component architecture

• Treat UI as table stakes, with the range and the appetite to take a system into motion, sound, 3D, and creative

• Coach rather than gatekeep — you measure your success in other teams' work, not in the size of your library

Compensation Information:

• The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
