What You'll Do:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a value-driven, real-time monitoring and optimization program for Nutrien ammonia facilities using process control systems, historian data, laboratory analyses, field observations, process models, maintenance information, and other available datasets.
  • Monitor plant performance and long-term trends to identify operating constraints, abnormal or degrading equipment, catalyst performance issues, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Identify opportunities and create actionable recommendations to increase production efficiency, enhance reliability, and reduce operating costs.
  • Support process troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and performance improvement studies by integrating process data, engineering analysis, process simulation, operating history, and equipment performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance ammonia process digital twins, condition-based monitoring tools, predictive analytics, and other advanced monitoring applications in collaboration with NROC specialists, process control, reliability, and technology teams.
  • Support turnaround and outage planning by utilizing performance data, equipment degradation trends, process vulnerabilities, inspection findings, and reliability indicators to identify, justify, and prioritize TAR scope.
  • Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and knowledge sharing on ammonia process technology, troubleshooting methods, and optimization opportunities across the ammonia fleet.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with site operations, maintenance, reliability, turnaround, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and maximize operational value.
  • Quantify and communicate the business value of recommendations, including production gains, energy savings, reliability improvements, avoided losses, and risk reduction.
What You'll Bring:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Chemical Engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience with Ammonia process technologies, including plant operations, process design, and/or simulation
  • Proven track record of analyzing plant data and making recommendations in operations, maintenance, or design improvements and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience with ammonia plant process technology and the mechanisms that affect safety, reliability, production, efficiency, catalyst performance, and equipment health.
  • Leadership style that allows for collaborate relationships to be established and built with site operational and technical staff
