We are searching for an Enterprise Applications Specialist to join our Project Management & Software Solutions Team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Applications, the Enterprise Applications Specialist acts as the technical and business systems expert for a portfolio of enterprise software platforms supporting operations across Shannex and affiliated organizations.

These platforms may support multiple business functions including finance, inventory management, procurement, sales, point of sale, customer service, workforce management, and operational reporting.

This role combines business analysis, solution implementation, systems administration, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, vendors, subject matter experts, and project teams to ensure technology solutions effectively support organizational goals. This role works exclusively with vendor-based applications and does not require software development or programming skills.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for assigned enterprise platforms.
• Evaluate business needs and translate them into system requirements and technology solutions.
• Participate in software evaluations, product selection activities, and vendor demonstrations.
• Support business case development and solution recommendations.
• Lead or support implementation of new software solutions and significant platform enhancements.
• Coordinate system configuration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Plan and support data migration and transition activities from legacy platforms.
• Analyze workflows and business processes to identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.
• Monitor application performance, data quality, adoption levels, and system effectiveness.
• Configure workflows, security roles, integrations, and reporting tools within vendor-supported platforms.
• Partner with vendors to resolve issues, implement updates, and optimize platform capabilities.
• Develop training materials, procedures, and documentation to support end users.
• Ensure compliance with organizational privacy, security, and governance standards.
• Participate in cross-functional projects that drive digital transformation and operational excellence.

About You

In addition to placing a high value on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, you bring:

• Post-secondary education in Information Systems, Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of experience supporting, implementing, or administering enterprise software solutions.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system solutions.
• Experience participating in software implementations, upgrades, or technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing SaaS or vendor-supported business applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with system configuration, workflow design, and process improvement.
• Experience supporting data migration or system transition activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with reporting, integrations, or low-code/no-code platforms are considered an asset.
