- Approximate annual salary:
- Executive Chef - $75,000 - $84,000
- Sous Chef - $55,000 - $61,000

About the Opportunity
Executive Chef
- Selects, shapes, and develops the culinary team
- Providing leadership and overseeing provision of food services
- Providing catering services for internal and external events
- Providing input into division menu development
- Liaising with the Health Services Team to ensure client receive the appropriate therapeutic menu modification as indicated by their medical condition
- Additional related duties as assigned/required
Sous Chef
- Planning and preparing meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes and menus
- Ordering, receiving, storing and rotating inventory of all required food and supplies
- Maintaining safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards
- Communicating regularly with clients to ensure satisfaction with foodservice
- Supervising and mentoring cooks to ensure performance meets standards
- Additional duties as assigned/required
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
Executive Chef
- Journeyman Cook papers from an accredited institution
- Current and recognized Advanced Food Safety certificate
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef
- Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services
- Experience in volume food preparation in the hospitality or long-term care sector
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment.
- Previous management experience is an asset, as well as any other Alzheimer's or Dementia training courses are considered an asset
Sous Chef
- A Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate
- A valid Food Handler's Certificate
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment
- Minimum 2 years of both culinary and leadership experience
- Experience with large quantity food preparation
- Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
