What You'll Do:- Actively promote and model the five principles of Human and Organizational Performance.
- Maintain a consistent, supportive presence in the field.
- Lead incident learnings using Learning Teams and other cause analysis methodologies. Your focus will be on extracting deep operational context to ensure we learn from failures and successes alike.
- Work alongside others to maintain and evolve our Safety Management System.
- Serve as the go-to Subject Matter Expert for safety inquiries and application of safety policies.
- Help develop site policies and hazard ID tools that are intuitive and useful for the frontline.
- Develop and distribute safety communications and monthly meeting packages that prioritize meaningful insights and shared learnings.
- Facilitate the inspection and certification of safety equipment.
- Provide direct supervision and support to safety services operator.
- Actively participate in safety committees and other cross-functional groups to drive continuous improvement.
- A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required. Additional safety-specific education, professional certifications, or prior supervisory experience will set you apart.
- 5-7 years of experience in a safety or similar role in an industrial setting.
- A proven commitment to safety excellence and the ability to lead by example.
- Practical experience in an industrial plant or potash operations; a background in managing safety systems is considered a significant asset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to lead public speaking engagements and safety "toolbox" talks.
- A strong ability to work cross-functionally and build professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize complex tasks and manage your workflow effectively with minimal supervision.
- Solid computer skills, with a high level of comfort using the Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
