The RoleAs Assistant Manager, GWO – Settlements & Clearing, Securitizations, you will support the daily execution, control, and continuous improvement of securitization settlement and clearing activities within Global Wholesale Operations. This role offers exposure to complex banking products, regulatory initiatives, operational controls, and process improvement work across a high-volume financial services environment.

You will help ensure operational activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and established procedures. The role supports securitization products and related operational processes for Global Banking and Markets, Group Treasury, and Global Wholesale Operations.

The portfolio includes asset-backed securities such as credit cards, auto loans, and lines of credit, as well as mortgage-backed securities, debt securities, and covered bonds.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Support daily settlement and clearing activities for securitization products, helping ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
  • Monitor operational processes, resolve routine processing issues, and escalate material risks or exceptions as required.
  • Support reconciliation, trade support, settlement, clearing, and control activities in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide operational coverage during peak volumes, vacation periods, statutory holidays, and short-staffed periods to maintain continuity of service.
  • Participate in technology, operational, and regulatory initiatives that impact securitization operations, including testing, implementation support, and process updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and simplify existing processes.
  • Document and share process updates, best practices, and procedural changes with relevant partners and team members.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, securities operations, capital markets operations, or a related financial services operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of securitization products, including mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, covered bonds, or debt securities.
  • Experience supporting settlement, clearing, reconciliation, trade support, or operational control processes.
  • Experience using mHUB is preferred.
  • Exposure to THOR, Broadridge, ScotiaConnect, K2, SPG, manual templates, or comparable banking operations platforms is an asset.

Education / Experience

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in banking operations, securities operations, capital markets operations, or financial services operations.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a standard office-based or temporary remote environment during core operational hours, typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Occasional weekend support may be required for project work, testing, or implementation activities.
