Rail Infrastructure Co‑op Student - Fall 2026

Location – Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Support Trackwork Engineers and EITs in producing designs and construction support documentation for Rail & Transit projects across Canada.

  • Prepare rail alignment & profile drawings, trackplan‑schematic drawings, trackwork detail drawings, and typical sections, including multi‑discipline interface sections.

  • Prepare yard and maintenance facility general layouts, cross sections, details, and track clearance envelopes to determine bodyline displacements, stopping positions, and fouling points.

  • Prepare ductbank and cable routing drawings and specifications, emergency and maintenance walkway drawings, transit operational signage, and guideway lighting drawings along transit guideways.

  • Attend site visits, as necessary, to support project design and construction activities.

  • Perform various analyses to problem‑solve and address different design issues.

  • Use various CAD and 3D software tools to develop and deliver design solutions.

The ideal candidate:

  • Working towards a degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Familiarity in the Track Design Handbook for Light Rail Transit (TCRP 155).

  • Able to apply AREMA standard in Alignment and Trackwork Design.

  • Able to apply EN, AS or other international standards in Alignment and Trackwork Design.

  • Self‑motivated and good team player.

  • Able to adopt to changing work environments.

  • Understands the transit environment in Canada and the role we play in creating a safe and reliable transit system.
